Industrialization affected the internal structure of many cities, and by the end of the nineteenth-century the functions of most cities along with social relations appeared fundamentally changed. The concept of Industrial township has come into being. An industrial township is a city where the economic system is based on the industry, such as a
mining town.
It is where the municipal economy and development are concentrated around industrial production and characterized by a large number of factories. On the other hand, Integrated Townships are huge real estate projects with both residential and commercial complexes with infrastructure like roads, schools, colleges, hospitals, shopping centres, water treatment plants, drainage and sewage facilities, places of worship etc, that come together to form a miniature urban ecosystem.
Industrial townships typically grow faster than mature cities because mature townships
accelerated urban development to such a great volume that they have generated challenges
highly difficult to scale.
Nowadays with the rate of urbanization increasing at a rapid pace, many problems are arising.
This urbanization has led to deteriorating air quality which has become a major concern through
the urban sprawls of Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune. The ever-escalating use of personal automobiles,

sustainability is the solution to overcome these challenges. Sustainability is the approach to
